G'day Strong Bad,

Thank you for your question.

George Lucas will be developing an untitled Star Wars and Clone Wars TV series as executive producer. Both series are being filmed at the moment.

His other post Star Wars projects include:

* Red Tails (2008)
* Indiana Jones 4 (2008) (story, executive producer)

However, he enjoys playing Star Wars video games with his children. He has also been known to read some of the Star Wars comic books, including Dark Empire. At one point, Lucas even said that he liked the story presented in the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire multimedia project so much, that if he had had the story in the 80's, he might have produced a film based on the events in it.

There has been plenty of non-canon Star Wars stuff made without Lucas' involvement.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Regards

I think Lucas has long since given up the thought of completing the third set of films. It is true that he had planned on Star Wars being a series of three trilogies, but the fact that technology had to catch up so much between the first and second trilogies has almost made it impossible for Lucas to tell the final trilogy on film.

When Lucas received AFI Lifetime Achievement Award, he said the following: This was awarded shortly after the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which he jokingly made reference to in his acceptance speech, stating that, since he views the entire Star Wars series as one movie, that he could be given the award now that he had finally "gone back and finished [the] movie."

While Lucas considers the Star Wars story on film his, he acknowledged that characters and universe he created just doesn't belong to him. A number of writers have written books based on the Star Wars universe, and the Star Wars comic books have continued the story of Luke, Han, Leah, Lando and the rest - in many way the stories of the Star Wars sequels have already been told.

That doesn't mean that some day there might not be another Star Wars movie, but I'm guessing that it will be someone else's work instead of George Lucas.

After completing the original triology George Lucas sold the rights to produce a role playing game and to make more novels. Later he said that the RPG (Role Playing Game) version was an authorized version and would depect the future history of the Star Wars Universe. He hasn't kept track of all the twists and turns in the popular RPG game or in the various novels. So trying to write a story that would fit into all these plot lines would be difficult.

Yes he has two projects in the works for the Star Wars Universe, and at least one of them will be a TV show, but he probably won't place it in the era after the first Trilogy iwth the major characters.

That still leaves a lot of room to create new characters, turn minor characters into major ones, or explore the life of the other characters between the movies.

The next game do out will take place between the first and second trilogies.

There is a lot of Star Wars stuff on the web so it is hard to shift through all of it to find out what George Lucas is planning for the future. I also think his is keeping his new projects under tight wrap.

Give him time...I am sure he will make 3 more crappy films so all the lonely geeks in the world can spend all thier allowances on more action figures and ticket prices.
