What do I all need to bring with me for my college dorm?

Here's what my university suggests for dorm rooms (plus my notes):

• Address Book
• Alarm Clock (or use your cell phone)
• Bathroom Items Carrier (something with holes in the bottom or a mesh bag)
• Bathrobe
•Towels
• Flip Flops (cheap ones to wear in the shower)
• Bedding
• Fan (only if there's room)
• Computer/Printer
• Basic Cooking/Eating Utensils
• Desk Lamp
• Favourite books/movies/CDs (upload your music onto your computer before you go and leave the CDs at home)
•Flashlight/batteries
• Games/Sporting goods
• Hangers (wire ones will ruin your clothes - go plastic or wood and get some skirt and pant hangars too)
• Humidifier (skip this one)
•Insurance #/Health Card
• Sewing Kit
• Stationary/Stamps (you can buy them there)
• Storage Boxes (buy them after you arrive so you can see how much storage space you'll have)
• Surge Protector/Power Bar
• Winter Wear
• Laundry bag/supplies (liquid detergent dissolves better in old machines- start the machine running, add the detergent, let the machine fill and THEN add your clothes)
• Posters and Sticky tac
• Plants
• Photo Album/Pictures
• Raincoat /Umbrella
• Musical Instrument (this one time... at college...)
• Slippers (cheap ones that you can throw away because they'll get dirty FAST)
• Groceries/Snacks (buy them after you arrive)

At my school you're not allowed to have halogen lamps, lava lamps, animals, sun lamps, candles, incense or barbeques in dorms. If you bring them, they will throw them away during room inspection.

search msn, they had articles about it, but i mean bring watever u need and check the college site for things that are not allowed, bring things to decorate ur room to, lamps, maybe some spray cleaners, cosmetics, clothes lol, um snacks, food, school supplies, computer stuff, cd's and stuf watever makes u feel at home
