I just bought gas for 2.34 a gallon, in Cincinnati and the news reports that it will be going more I hope they are right

Maybe because Dayton, Ohio is located near where the gasoline is manufactured or refined and the gasoline truck that delivers it to the gas station has less delivery distance.

Cost of living. I live in the Memphis area and our gas is around 2.40. My folks who live in the Philadelphia, PA area are paying 2.65ish. It's just cost of living for the most part.

alot of states have taxes on pollutants and heavy taxes on gas to promote commuting via public transportation and car pooling.

We just found some more oil in the US that will double our reserves...YEAH BABY>.....WHy arent we taking the IRAQI oil?
