Pick a quarrel? Over dinner? How?

Its never easy to say you want a divorce but the sooner the better. @ home and its just the two of you... tell him that you need to have a serious talk, explain why you are unhappy and at this point you don't want to continue the relationship. Or you can do what I did .. go to marriage counseling and simply say to him I am no longer in love with you and I am now sure that I doubt I ever did. That pretty much ended it.

Certainly NOT pick a quarrel..that will not come across as real. OVER dinner? why ruin a meal. Why don't you just say, "We need to sit down and have a talk." That will get his attention immediately, he will know this is serious, and just say it straight out. IF he asks why, then tell him straight out. But, be very sure you know what you are doing before you start this. Once started, you may not be able to stop it, no matter if you change your mind or not. Have you considered airing your differences and seeing if they can be resolved? Divorce is a very final thing, does not sit well with your stability, etc. Good luck.

It's no nice way to tell someone that you no longer want to be with them. You could go ahead and file for a divorce and have him served with the papers. That would save you the time and the words in trying to tell him. But if you want to be considerate of him just tell him the truth that you want a divorce and you will file for it the next day. Whatever you do choose your words and approach very carefully.

It depends on your situation.

You could pack up everything while he's at work. Then tell him in phone or letter

Or, you tell him up front face to face at home

It depends on how you think he will react and what your situation is. Are you safe/ is he crazy/violent. Need more info
