A Family Affair. This is an older movie, where Robert Duvall and James Earl Jones are half-brothers. (Now that right there should be enough to get you to rent it.) It's a really, really good movie, on more than one level. And the lady who plays the blind aunt should have been nominated for best supporting actress.

Akeelah and the Bee. This is a recent release, with Keke Palmer and Laurence Fishburne and Angela Bassett. It is absolutely excellent. And the related features on the DVD, like "the making of the movie" are also worth watching, unlike most movies.

You rent these 2 movies, and you'll have a very nice time.
