Michael Jackson is the best singer, dancer and performer of all time!! None of us know anything about his personal life (only what the media tells us)!! Sure he's a little odd but most geniuses are!!

♥♥We Love You Michael!!!!♥♥

P.S. Madkins007 your answer was awesome!

In a very competetive business, he was very good for a long while. I still enjoy a lot of his music and routines.

I think we make two equally unreasonable mistakes when it comes to celebrities-

1.) Letting our opinion of their personal life overshadow our opinion of their work. We don't know these guys- almost everything we think we know comes from the media, whose job is not to inform us in an unbiased way but to create viewership and sell ads.

Think about it- we think Michael or Tom Cruise are flakes, so we tend to ignore or downplay their music and movies. We basically let rumors and gossip determine our behavior in absolutely unimportant things (movies and music not being on the same level as air or having a heartbeat)

However- we don't know squat about the daily life of our doctor or surgeon- all we care about there is their performance record.

If having weird opinions makes a celeb's work inferior, why don't we scrutinize our doctor's life, or our mechanic's, or our banker's? These guys hold our lives in their hands, and we don't care a bit about their private life.

Odd, isn't it?

2.) We also tend to pretend that a celebs opinion has some weight or meaning above the average person's. Come on- these guys are celebs becuase of a specieal skill set- and they deserve recognition for that skill- but that does not mean they know squat about anything else.

Jackson may be a Grade A freak, but how well would you or I do with a camera shoved in our face 24/7 and millions of people crowding us at every turn?

yes, Michael Jackson is still so influential to artists everywhere. His music covers Soul, RnB, Hip Hop, Rock and love ballards. I would argue that he is still the best performer in the last 20 years. Yes he is wierd and has made some serious mistakes in his life, but you only have to look at other "big" artists' admiration for him to know that he is the best of the best.

Hey now. I like the fella. All the music he give to the world. Got people doing the moonwalk to this day.

I still hope he did not do all that stuff they accuse him of. Really wish he would stop inviting kids to his place. I think if he does stop, there would not be all this accusations about him.

The man himself is really good. His music, his dance style. Why, kids still be tryna dance like Micheal Jackson.
Like the guy? Well...like Dave Chappelle said on the Chappelle show:)

"He made Thriller y'all...Thriller..."

I do think Michael a nut job but you cant slag him off for his music because he really does bring out some good tunez, his early stuff like Triller and Beat It are the best though!! His dancing is the best I have never anything like it!!

My hubbie is a huge fan and loves all his music. He even has his autograph. But I must admit. he is a bit strange, but that could have something to do with the life he has had. Its not exactly normal to be thrown into the limelight at such a young age.

Speaking strickly of his music, even without considering that he has no formal training and no instrumental skill, he is a genius. Both timely and head of his time, yet with a style that will endure the test of time. A gift to the world of music.

He might be a wierdo, but like most weirdos he is an absolute genious. Music is what it is today because of Jacko. We can all say that what he gets up to indoors is wrong but you can't help your foot tapping when you hear his tunes (post earthsong etc not included obviously)

For his songs I agree with you but watching him dance I don't know what all the fuss is about.
He might have been popular with doing the moonwalk but otherwise it is just a lot of throwing his arms up in the air, holding on to his bits between his legs and saying ooh or ow!

As a person, I don't like him but as an entertainer, I think he's great. "Thriller" has to be one of my all time favorite music videos!! And, yes considering his controversial life I do own a couple of his Cd's. I think everyone likes at least one song of his but will never admit it.
