Royal forestry question?
I have just enrolled to study the Royal forestry certificate of arboriculture and would like to know if anyone knows of any good books or links for soil frmation, nutrient requirments, associated problems and treatment. And the selection, supply, planting and aftercare of plants to include nomenclature. Thanks and any help would be appreciated

Hi, I work at the Forestry Commission Head Office on the switch board and to save you the trouble of phoning us I can tell you that you need to get in touch with the Forest Research - Northern Research Station at the Bush Estate in Roslin, Edinburgh. They deal with all scientific related enquires and have specialists who can answer, or at the very least refer you to a someone in soil science, they also have a seed planting branch at the same office.

Contact your local Forestry Commission or ask in the library or your university should have a point of contact for you to at least get started in the right direction
