Does anyone know how often tires should be balanced and rotated for normal driving conditions? And what about alignments?

rotate every 6000 miles front to back but DO NOT CRISS CROSS this will cause the tire to wear faster just move them from front to back and the alignment should be about 20000 miles unless you feel a vibration or pulling in the front end

I suggest rotating tires every other oil change. It will greatly extend the life of them. Under normal driving conditions your alignment will not be changed. But if you happen to run up on a curb or go sliding around corners (and so on) often then you will end up needing to get it fixed.

Tires should be rotated every 6,000 miles... well at least that is what I have been told!! Alignments.. do you feel your car is out of wack and needs it?! Don't spend the money if you dont think it is.. go down the interstate or a straight road and take your hands off the wheel.. it is pulling hard to one side then do an alignment! Otherwise don't waste your money!!

Tire rotation is for the purpose of compensating for mechanical component wear, driving habits, and highway conditions. The suggested mileage for tire rotation in your owners manual is a good balance. Watch your tires for unusual wear such as cupping which could point to a bad shock absorber, wearing in the center indicates over inflation, and wear around the outside edges which is usually under inflation. Wear on only one outside edge of the tire indicates an alignment is needed and maybe component replacement. If you stress your tires by hard starts and quick stops, you must watch for excessive even wear on any tire that you spin in starting or slid in stopping.

Depends on your car and the type of driving you do. Most national tire shops will sell you lifetime rotation and alignment service agreements. These are pretty good deals if you also use the shop for oil changes and general maintenance.

Rotate every 6000 miles, changing from front to back and then criss cross. Balance when you feel a vibration.
Alignments, Only when the tires start to wear funny or it the car does not travel straight when you barely remove you hands from the steering wheel when going down the road.

Tires rotated & balanced every other oil change, thats how I remember it. (every 6,000 miles). And as far as alignments go you should have that checked every 12,000 miles, most places dont charge you to check the alignment, they only charge if they actually have to realign, so ask before you have it checked to make sure you wont be charged.
