I know most people will disagree with me but I like 3 the best. I have the rocky collection and that is the one I watch the most. I just think that Mr. T is such a badass in that movie and how in the beginning Clubber Lang was working his *** off and Rocky was blowing off his workouts and half assing it. Clubber wanted it more until Rocky got his heart back. Next would be Rocky then Rocky 2 then Rocky 4. I have had the Rocky dvd's for 5 years now and I have still not opened Rocky 5. It was horrible.

The first Rocky is a great American success story, with a pretty good acting job by Sylvester Stalone. It was a boxing and sport film that we really hadn't seen before, and Talia Shire is very good as well, as is Burgess Meredith, Burt Young and Carl Weathers. I remember when Rocky came out, every guy wanted to be Rocky.
Now, the boxing scenes are better in the next four movies (I think Stalone said they threw 3 times as many punches in Rocky II as in Rocky 1), and Mr. T was entertaining to watch in Rocky 3. Rocky 4 and 5 definitely showed the series losing steam. I hope Rocky 6 turns out ok, but I'm afraid it will be about 2 movies too much for Rocky.

Rocky 4 was my all time favorite. Apollo died so sad :(
US vs Russia
I loved the scenes of nature vs. science when he and Drago are training. It was just a well put together movie, touching and not overly corny but it was like the most enjoyable ROCKY movie. He was a bit smarter, more put together and respectable.
The soundtrack ROCKED!
ROCKY 5 was the most embarrasing horrible film :( Such a disappointment and frankly I don't think 6 will be any better as Stallone is WAY too old for this part and too much time has passed between movies for us to care anymore. I think he's supposed to own a store or something in this one, but that isn't much different than the 5th one where he owned a store too. I truly think 4 should have been the last one.

The first is an American film classic! There are good reasons why it was named the Best Picture of 1976!
I actually wrote a paper in college about how Rocky IV was NOT a "Rocky" movie...
It was more of a reflection of the times, and a music video for the Reagan Era and the beginning of the music video. Lots of B.S. propoganda, U.S. good... U.S.S.R. eeeeeeevil. They never once played "Gonna Fly Now" or even used the "Rocky" theme. Goofy and entertaining? Perhaps. But a weak and pale imitation of II & III which were weak and pale imitations of the first...
BUT... all that said, I WILL be there opening weekend in the hopes that "Rocky Balboa" aka "Rocky VI" will be the second best of the bunch.
