I am 24 years old and wondering how much work experience is needed to get into either one of these schools with a gmat of 740. I currently have two years experience as a finacial analyst at my current job. My undergraduate gpa score was a 3.68.

5 years of work experience will be average. Focus on your community involvement and leadership positions to help you out.

I found admissions411.com has a good sample of the GMAT scores and work experience levels that will get you into the top 10 business schools.

oh yeah, only go for the MBA if you can get into a top business school. Otherwise, you really have to think about the cost of the school and your expected future earnings from the MBA degree.

here's the link http://www.admissions411.com , and also check out the Graduate forum on http://www.businessweek.com . You'll get better responses than ppl telling you that you're asking stupid questions.

Columbia is a definite - average GMAT score to enter business school is around 650 or so. 740 is an outstanding score - congratulations! Warning, its very expensive. My brother (went to Columbia undergrad) went to one of the best MBA schools in Canada and saved THOUSANDS in tuition.

University of Toronto's MBA program is phenomenal and its a gorgeous city.

Good luck!

If you're planning on studying business, I would recommend Wharton, but Columbia is a great school. Heck, I have my masters degree from there!

who cares? just apply to both. you'll never gain the power or money you want if your actions get delayed by stupid questions.

if you get accepted by both then you can ask such a question.
