love leaves memories know one can steal
death leaves heart ache know one can heal
life brings knowledge so that we can feel
dont be afraid god will stear the wheel
once i saw your face so i know what he is
the all mighty jesus who lives to please us
earth is the cradle of man kind believe me
but we cant spread our souls to fly free
so reach for the stars each and every day
to the second we pass family we'll guide the way

I HAD A GUINEA GOLDEN

by: Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)

HAD a guinea golden;
I lost it in the sand,
And though the sum was simple,
And pounds were in the land,
Still had it such a value
Unto my frugal eye,
That when I could not find it
I sat me down to sigh.

I had a crimson robin
Who sang full many a day,
But when the woods were painted
He, too, did fly away.
Time brought me other robins,--
Their ballads were the same,--
Still for my missing troubadour
I kept the "house at hame."

I had a star in heaven;
One Pleiad was its name,
And when I was not heeding
It wandered from the same.
And though the skies are crowded,
And all the night ashine,
I do not care about it,
Since none of them are mine.

My story has a moral:
I have a missing friend,--
Pleiad its name, and robin,
And guinea in the sand,--
And when this mournful ditty,
Accompanied with tear,
Shall meet the eye of traitor
In country far from here,
Grant that repentance solemn
May seize upon his mind,
And he no consolation
Beneath the sun may find.

Tall man on the street
Glued to the corner by his feet

Almost looked both ways before he crossed
Struck by a truck bashed and tossed

Always in trouble this one was
Constantly pursued by the fuzz

Tried to follow his momma’s creed
Even with full pockets was a man in need.

Now he lies in a bed
12 yards of cotton round his head.

Should have listened this man in need
to his loving momma’s creed.

Wandering detatched, alone on the street
Known as the "Ghost Daughter"
A foreboding presence, bitter and taunting
Killed be her beligerent father

The despairing spirit, so loving of life
never passed truely on
Her father so callous, to end her life
She hopes for love, but gets none

VERY descriptive! VERY dark with a great ending. it is a superb one! i might exchange the final to "I stand on my own and weep while the wind whispers some thing candy in my ear, lower back... I smile" One exchange in wording and it wraps it up completely. keep in mind over use of the word AND on your destiny poems. great activity!

Silly secrets like
the whispers of butterflies
Can you keep them, my
Little rumors, little lies
--Erin Mitchell
One of my good friends wrote this poem for me a long time ago. It's been published so nobody can steal it.

Little green bird with a yellow bill,
sat upon my window sill
I lured him in with a piece of bread
Then I smashed his little head.

have you ever wondered which hurts the most?
saying something and wishing you had not?
or saying nothing and wishing you had?
i guess the most important things
are the hardest thing to say...

if you were a tear drop
in my eye
for fear of losing you
i would not cry.
