It depends on his reasons for being a vegetarian.
What I don't get is people who work out at the gym all the time and still smoke. That is just ridiculous!

Considering that he wouldn't wear leather when played Johnny Cash, I think maybe it is more for animal rights than health reasons.

A person who eats meat does not (under ordinary circumstances) force others to do the same. One who smokes inflicts his or her smoke on everyone within breathing range.

No....some people have self-destructive and addictive personalities that manifest themselves despite other lifestyle factors....but, you know, it's hard for me to find fault with anything that man does...and face it, if anybody makes smoking look cool, it's him....Oh, but smoking's not cool, kids. Feel like I should say that, even though I'm one to talk....

My he's a vegetarian for MORAL reasons.
In other words, he wishes no animals die for him... but as far as cutting his own life short with cigarettes, that's up to him.

Animal rights and health issues are uh... separate. They aren't the same topic, so having two opinions for them would make sense.

He's really into not killing the animals.
For the Gladiator, he wouldn't wear any costumes which were made of leather/animal skin. So I guess that's why he's a super vegan.
Smoking just kills him, so I guess he's okay with that... ?
