I am a style consultant and a make up artist I hope my tips help:

Make up:
Its best to go with the natural look.

This system of applying makeup for a natural look is fast and easy when you get the hang of it.

Steps:

1. Understand that a 'natural' look is one that uses colors that are right for your skin tone. How much you use, and where, depends on your personal style.

2. Make sure your concealer is yellow in tone since it mutes imperfections without adding color, giving your skin a natural look.

3. Apply foundation that matches your skin tone. The right foundation will seem to disappear on your face. If you are African-American, it's a good idea to have light, medium and dark shades of your foundation to allow for different gradations of color on different parts of your face.

4. Apply eye makeup in earthy tones'beige, brown, gold or plum for shadows and brown and charcoal gray for liner and mascara. Skip liner or shadow entirely if you want to keep makeup light.

5. Choose a blush color that is close to the color of your cheeks after you've exercised.

Tips:

Remember to clean and moisturize your face first.

Choose brighter or darker tones for a stronger, more made-up look.

Intensify your natural makeup for evening. Instead of brown, for example, go for charcoal around the eyes. 'Pop' blush with a brighter color over your usual one. Make lips brighter, darker or more shimmery.

Warnings:

Don't skimp on makeup tools. Better tools make applying makeup easier and faster.

The eyes wear any color just not bright white.

Hope that helps.

Just don't put on heavy make up! Go to a local department store and have them give you a facial so you can see what looks good on you! You could also find a Mary Kay consultant in your area and ask her for a facial. Whatever works best for you, but don't feel like you have to wear heavy make-up just to look good! Hope this helps!

Heavy make up is nasty and bad for your skin...At times, less is better. The objective of make up is to enhance your beauty, not smother it. I would suggest finding a mineral makeup product line. (Ulta is a good store with resourceful staff). I think Ulta has a site...check it out...I also recommend a lines like amazing cosemetics...I love it...or cheap Mabelline mousse makeup Then, play with colors (blush, shadows, lipsticks,) that you think are flattering to your features....

Heavy makeup doesn't look good on anyone except for Halloween. Instead of trying to go against your face, go with it. For example: powder, CoverGirl blush in "rose silk" (it looks good on everyone), one coat of brown mascara, sheer or peach lip gloss, and cream-gold on your eyes

I wouldn't put on heavy make up eapecially if you have a baby face. You don't want to look like a clown. You want to look pretty.
There's nothing wrong with light make up.

You don't have to pile tons of makeup on your face to look older. Instead, why not concentrate on your eyes - a "smoky" eye effect can make you look older without putting tons of foundation onto your face.

Don't wear makeup. Maybe your face was just meant to be 'naked'. Or try having a friend put it on for you--maybe you aren't the best at it?

First off, never wear heavy make up. EVER! It not only ruins your skin, but it makes you look older, not more mature. If you're trying to look more mature, try a new hairstyle.

lay off the make up, use a dark eyeliner, and a light colored eyeshadow to accent the eyes, use black mascara, go light on foundation and powder, and neutral or a pout color for the lips, glossy.
