I am due on Oct. 30th. I have people tell me all the time they are sorry for me because its the day before halloween or I could possibly go on halloween and they wouldnt want their baby due on halloween. I live in a very big christian community. But to me that would be an awesome birthday, I dont believe its satanic, like a bunch of people here. I mean you could have green cake and have people dress up in costumes at your birthday party and get free candy..lol. I dont want people telling my child he is evil because of his birthday. What are your thoughts about a halloween birthday?

People who think that being born on a holiday such as Halloween is evil are nuts and they are certainly narrow-minded - I think you should stay away from those kind of people. I agree with you - I think that it will actually be fun for your child to be born on a holiday. And besides, how can anyone ever say that a child is evil just because they were born on a certain day? Children are pure and innocent and they are God's blessings - it's not their fault if they happen to come on a day that's not so appealing to other people. If the community that you live in are pure Christians, then why would they believe Halloween to be satanic - if they believe that day is satanic, then it means they are paganistic. Halloween should be just another fun holiday. My sister was born on the 13th, and every now and then her birthday would fall on a Friday (get it? Friday the 13th), but of course we're Christians and we don't believe that that affects anything, so my sister is never bothered about such things.

So goodluck to you and with your pregnancy, and don't listen to what other people say.

My daughter was born on Halloween, she will be 8 this year. She loves it. We always ask her if she wants a regular party or a Halloween party, so far she has always chosen the Halloween party. She is not a devil child just because she was born on Oct 31st. Look at it this way, a baby is a gift from God, he chooses the parents, the child and the day. I am a Christian and live in a small Christian community and nobody thinks of my daughter as a bad person. If the people in your community are not there to help and support you and your family on the birth of your wonderfull child then you don't need them and they are not really your friends. We alway's have a great time with our Halloween Birthday parties.

I also live in a big Christian community. My son was born 15 days before Halloween. I was thinking about having a Halloween birthday party for him this year and sending invitations to his preschool. But, his preschool is at our church. I am not really sure how the other parents feel about Halloween or if they even celebrate it. For me, it is my favorite time of year. I know how Halloween began but it has changed. We don't dress up to scare away demons, we do it for fun. As kids, most of us were not told what Halloween really was. We just dressed up as our favorite character, had parties in school, carved jack-o-lanterns, and went "Trick or Treating." I don't see anything wrong with that. I think your baby is lucky to be born on or near Halloween. You will always have a theme for his birthday party! Don't worry about what others say. Your baby is not evil.

Personally, Halloween is my favorite holiday, and a I think a Halloween birthday would be AWESOME! It would be like a week-long party for your kid, with a big candy blowout at the end. Imagine the birthday parties!

I had an aunt who's birthday was Halloween and I don't recall her catching any cr*p for having that day for a birthday.

Don't worry about it, and good luck!

I know how a lot of christians think that halloween is evil.... In fact when my husband and i were still in school, we volunteered at a haunted house to get the community service hours necessary to graduate high school here. My grandparents told us about a boy who had recently been hit by a train and linked that to halloween and the devil. Like we were going to be hit by a train(or worse) for participating in a haunted house....haha. These people should consider the fact that halloween does not stand for the same things that it used to. Most holidays today are looked at differently than they used to be. Most people don't care about what the holiday stands for, but what they get out of it. (candy at halloween, and easter, presents at christmas, days off on other holidays.) it really isn't about satanism anymore, it's about candy, and you can always choose "good clean costumes" anyway

Halloween, as it is generally accepted, is just another commercialized holiday it really has nothing to do with good or evil. In other words it is just another day and, yes it would be fun to spin off of it for parties and the like, don't let any one tell you that because of your child's birthday that he or she will grow up to be evil. I happen to know a guy whose birthday is on Halloween and he is an overall good guy, doesn't worship the devil, eat things that he shouldn't (other people, bats, etc.), doesn't use animal blood or people blood to write or paint with, he is just a normal everyday guy.

First, its a "made up" holiday for a party to celebrate the harvest, nothing spooky- really. Its Nov 1 that this "day of the dead" and all saints day. Most Halloween stuff is just pretend to make us have some fun. An October rich is creative and warm.

I sat in the emergency room on my son's due date- waiting and excited that he was to be born on 10/31 Halloween Day. What a great party day! He was taken c sec a week later. Grrrr

I was born on Thanksgiving and that sucked as a kid, Yet as an adult it was wonderful. That date was my parents 4th wedding anniversary as it fell that year as well. So I share two holidays.

My Mom was born on Labor day and she loved it, tons of summer parties and friends.

My brother was born on the fourth of July (no joke) He hated it as a kid as well....yet as an adult he enjoys have a holiday off for his birthday as well. My point exactly.

Harvest time is a wonderful time. Think of your child as the bounty of your love. The cornucopia of happiness. okay corny!

When I was a kid, a friend of mine had a birthday right around Halloween. Every year, he had the best costume/birthday party. I'm with you, it would be so much fun to have that kind of birthday party. As for the others, just ignore them... let them think what they want.

I am due November 4th, but I think it would be cool if the baby came on Halloween. People are going to say stupid things to your child for his/her entire life, if you teach them to be self confident it shouldn't bother them. You are right, the Halloween birthday party would be really fun.

My birthday is on the 13th and people always tell me how sad it is that my birthday sometimes falls on Friday the 13th. What's the big deal? Who cares? I have a few superstitions but some people are just silly about them.
