Well, I don't know if you have read my last post but I decided to keep my second child, my mom wants me to. So I was just wondering, how much wieght do you put on in your second pregnancy. I really don't want to put on more than twenty pounds!! Do you put on more the second time or less? I eat really healthy, only three small meals a day, and last time I didn't get morning sickness...does this effect how much weight I'll put on?

I'm glad you decided to keep the second one. I think the second is the same as the first pregnancy...you put on as much weight as you have to. Good Luck!

20 pounds isn't a lot of weight to put on unless you are starting out a little overweight. I put on exactly 20 pounds with my first daughter (I was about 50 pounds overweight when I got pregnant) and now with my second pregnancy I was about 40 overweight and have put on 16 pounds (I'm 32 weeks.) I read in a book that quite often you put on the same amount of weight with all your pregnancies, but I don't know for sure that it is true.

Don't starve yourself just to keep from gaining too much weight. Take care of yourself and if you are really hungry, you should eat. You don't want to have dizzy spells, you could fall and hurt yourself. And you don't want to prevent the baby from growing at a healthy rate. Morning sickness can keep you from gaining weight if you can't keep anything down, but that might not last your whole pregnancy.

Well, I just read your last post in which you said your daughter is a "brat" and you are not raising her, but rather leaving your Mom to do everything while you go out and "party" because you are 19 years old. You were also saying you wanted to abort your first and now this child, but you just couldn't bring yourself to give the child up for adoption. It is high time you GREW UP and made an UNSELFISH decision about the future of your unborn child.

Please please please give your child up for adoption to a stable, loving, solvent family that is old enough and mature enough and that really wants the child. The child will be so much better off. Doesn't your child deserve this much in life?

Then get on depo provera injections to prevent future unwanted pregnancies. Many forms of birth control are 99 percent effective when used properly. Getting pregnant as a teenager once is a mistake, but TWICE is like you just don't care what happens. Stop making more unwanted babies.

First of all you shouldn't be so concerned about not gaining weight while you are pregnant, you should be concerned that the baby is getting enough. HOW SELFISH of you! Second of all eating three small meals a day will starve an unborn baby. You should be eating at least every 2-3 hours, small meals, as in snack size. Getting bigger is just a part of pregnancy and you should not get pregnant if you are goin to be so selfish.

If this is your second child, each is totally different.
Be prepared to be the best Mom possible while pregnant.

I had to eat 5-8 times a day and I lost 42 #'s of fat and had a beautiful 9# 2oz boy. So each body is different.

Best wishes. I hope that the doctor can best answer your questions.

This is NOT the time to worry about your weight...it's all about the baby now. Your baby needs more calories to develop and grow, and you need more to carry her. I would strongly recommend if you're eating small meals, that you eat 5 or 6 a day, or increase what you're used to eating at the normal 3 meals per day.
Plus healthy is a rather subjective word...for example, you may be eating salads frequently....great...are you using iceberg lettuce (the round head of lettuce we're used to) not great...there's virtually ZERO nutritional value in it...get some romaine, red or green leaf lettuce, fresh spinich...."spring greens" they all pack a wallop nutritionally.
Maybe for you "healthy" means that you're avoiding meats & fats....again, for adults that's great...for pregnant moms, not so much...baby needs the amino acids and the fatty acids to develop normally.
How much you eat has nothing to do with how much you gain, neither does morning sickness (unless you're SOOOO sick that you can't keep any food down!)
I gained about the same with both of my children, but I know many who gained more, and many who gained less with their subsequent pregnancies. Eat plenty, keep you muscles tone, and once the baby is born it will be much easier to work off the "baby fat."

for the most part i have found it goes to the baby your weight but dont over do it

Weight gain during pregnancy should be gradual with the most weight being gained in the last trimester. According to the ACOG, you should gain about 2 to 4 pounds during the first three months of pregnancy and then 3 to 4 pounds per month for the rest of your pregnancy. Total weight gain should be about 25 to 30 pounds. This will decrease the risk of delivering a low-birth-weight baby. The Institute of Medicine recommends that women who have a low Body Mass Index (BMI) -- the ration of weight to height -- should gain 28 to 40 pounds during pregnancy and women who have a higher BMI should gain 15 to 25 pounds. Check with your doctor to determine how much weight gain during pregnancy is healthy for you.
Weight gained includes 6 to 8 pounds for the weight of the baby. The remaining weight consists of a higher fluid volume, larger breasts, larger uterus, amniotic fluid, and the placenta.

What an insane thing to say, you should be happy that the baby is healthy and put on whatever it takes to have the child in a healthy way, If weight is your top concern with this pregnancy you shouldn't be having the baby.
