Try to let her know all the time that she "pleases" you regardless of her actions. In other words, you love her no matter what she does or does not do. Let her know (by your example preferably) that it's okay to spill, fail, break, fall, come in last, etc., etc. I she gets the impression that some behaviors may result in your love being taken away (an angry face looks like this and yelling is what it sounds like), she will probably be very tentative in her actions. You can find some really good books on how in increase a child's self esteem. Go the the library or bookstore.

I trust people who say provide him compliment whilst he does play nicely or finished a job. It sounds slightly to me such as you in all possibility make a huge fuss over him and that i'm assuming that he in all possibility could do extra effective in case you enable him 2 do extra on his own. maybe being on his lower back all the time will make him confident that he desires you there and (for loss of a extra effective observe) i understand you elect him to enhance up a "manly" guy

Let her know that you know whats going on by telling her what you typed, and then tell her thats she doesnt have to be like that and when she gets confidence and starts being her own person, she will be a happier girl.
good Luck!

Positive thinking and positive comments are one best ingedients to positive self confident kid..
Say good things to her, everyday, encourage her to participate
enroll her in things she might like, compliment her on test scores..
MY kid is so confident that she signs up for everything in school..
w/o me having to tell her. if she's weak in reading, teach her to be a stronger reader..they tend to be more postive and confident

Start getting her involved in some activities...ask her what she likes and get her to give it her all. May take a while to find what she likes. ice skating, horseback riding, painting, soccer...anything. She needs to find that 'thing' that changes her from scared to feeling powerful.

Hugs, kisses, "good jobs!", and maybe an occasional special dessert reward for doing something scary. Sorry, nothing you have not thought of.
