1. Do you understand better by VISUALLY seeing the facts or whatever it is? Or are you better at understanding when someone else reads it off to you?
2. STUDY everyday with or without a friend. IT helps me to have a friend to work off of. Then my thinking comes in crystal clear! :)
3. Well... I dunno about that one... but find something interesting... like go online whatever it is ur studying type "facts about (the thing ur studying) and maybe something kewl will come about and then it'll interest you more to learn about it all.
4. Well... I have a visual memory so if I see it I remember it... most of the time... so I will sometimes write answers and questions on seperate papers and then paste them to different colored papers and that helps me "ASSOCIATE" and remember.
5. Just study ur damn hardest! lol. Always use proper punctuation and proper writing skills. LEARN them before you even do a exam.
Sometimes the professor/teacher will work with you if you ask them to help you study. They'll usually give you a lil tidbit on what can help, as long as you come forward and ask for it. And if they don't wanna who says another teacher in another area couldn't help?
I did read that someone else on here uses music! That's definately a plus for me too... Music if it's on it makes me concentrate harder on what I need to do... it's like a distraction that BENEFITS me.

Other than that ... this is just my personal opinion. "It's all in the person (you) on how you go about things in life (in general)."

One thing that I have found helpful was to write down important definitions, facts, lists, or other information onto flashcards. Carry the cards with you, and at every free moment, flip through them and review.
Another thing I found helpful- if you don't mind writing in your textbooks, is to use a highlighter and hit important dates, facts, or anything else that you want to draw attention to.
A way that I found to help improve understanding is to find a study buddy, and go over the information. Explain it like your telling someone who knows nothing about it. That's how you know if you understand something well enough, is if you can explain it clearly to someone else.
Hope these tips are useful!

this is what I do... If I'm getting to bored with the material I read it outloud... I also make different voices... (sounds weird I know) but it'll keep me awake! also, put on your favorite music, not to loud, but just loud enought so that not everything is quiet... the quieter it gets the more boring it gets (at least for me). Also, you can go on the internet and find different articles about your subject, they have pictures, sometimes forums and that'll keep you going... If you are reading from a book, take out the vocabulary words and make a separate sheet with them, read them, 75% of all test are all about definitions... that would def improve your test scores...good luck on your studies! I know exactly how you feel!! :P
