Yes you can test if you suspect that you are pregnant. It's always best to know before you take your pills again. Know though that birth control pills can sometimes cause irregular bleeding or spotting. Since you've already made the appointment with your doctor, your best bet is to rule out pregnancy with a pregnancy test and then go from there.

Goodluck with everything!

If was the first month of taking the pill, you took antibiotics or st. johns wort, or missed a few pills then there is a chance. BUT being on the pill can also make your period lighter. You can take the test now, but it would be better to wait a few more days if your light period just ended. You should definately take the test in the morning though when you do take it.

if you take the pill every day like you're supposed to, i don't think you are pregnant. the pill screws around with your reproductive system so you could have a really light period one month and a heavy one the next. if you're still worried you might be pregnant then go to a doctor or take a test. even while taking the pill it's only 99% effective.

also if it's your birth control pill that's making your period a little screwy, talk to your doctor about trying a different brand. usually birth control is supposed to help regulate your period, not mess it up.

also, if you don't want to wait a month to go see an ob/gyn, make an appointment or go to your local planned parenthood (plannedparenthood.org) you don't necessarily need an appointment, they take walk ins and you don't need a prescription or anything for birth control.

Yes, you can take a test. Just remember that change in diet, activity level, stress, weight gain and loss can all cause you to miss your period. Sometimes it just happens that way. And if you take the pill at a different time every day, that can leave you open to being pregnant too.

Yes, I'd say you could take a test and get an accurate reading.
