When my friend got pregnant her mom told her to have an abortion she had already had one so she decided to have it. But she did tell me in her country her mom had had 9 or 10 abortions I didnt think of her in a bad way I just felt all creepy around her is this strange. I know its not my business but since she told me, I just never thought of her as someone who would have that many.

I guess my question is how many is to many before a person is just weird. I know many of you will say 1 is too many, I agree but I also think sometimes people make mistakes.

Hey, it depends from person to person as everyone has different ideology. I would definitely feel creepy too and wonder how do they dont realize the joys of being a mother, carrying a baby and that they are taking a life of an unborn child which should make them think a thousand times before making the same mistake again.

Well I know that I don't agree with abortion, however it seems to me that in many cases that it is better all around to have them sometimes. If a mother does not want a child, or is unable or unwilling to care for it then only alternative is adoption(which in many countries can be a death sentence anyways) Although I'd think that she'd be a little more cautious now that she's had an abortion, maybe it's not an option in her country. Try not to feel weird about it, sometimes the cruelest decisions are the right ones, for everyone. It sounds mean, but I'd say I much rather her have an abortion, than to have a child and mistreat it, or have to put it through the adoption system, from which it may never find a happy loving home.

I have a problem with people using abortion as a form of birth control. It would make me uncomfortable because she obviously doesn't learn from her mistakes. The unborn child and my religious beliefs aside... It's just ridiculous to put yourself at risk by knowingly having unprotected sex and not taking action to protect yourself. She may not have the unwanted children, but she could have some serious health problems. I would also feel strange if I was your friend. Can you imagine being the chosen 1 to be born out of the 10 other children she aborted?? Not a good example to set for your daughter on so many levels...

I don't agree with abortion as a form of birth control. But, I do believe it is every woman's choice. Fortunately, or because I was smart enough to always use birth control, I have never been in the position of having to decide about an unwanted pregnancy. After having a child, I can't imagine terminating a pregnancy only for the reason of convenience. To answer your question, I think you are totally justified in feeling weird or creepy around your friend's mom. It is everyone's own decision - and why she would share that info with her daughter is baffling. I don't think this woman is weird - just ignorant and irresponsible.

1 is too many. Mistakes shouldn't happen. If a person is THAT terrified of becoming pregnant, multiple forms of birth control (e.g. condoms AND the pill) should be used. Abortion isn't a form of birth control. Well, unfortunately to many people it IS, but in my opinion, it shouldn't be.

I think if you get more then one....that's too many. You are right, people make mistakes...but making the same mistake twice, that's not good. I'm sorry to hear your friend's mom had so many abortions, but please don't think of her differently...as you said in her country that's "normal." Just because we live in the US (or where ever you are from) doesn't make us better than anyone or correct all the time. But yes to answer your question I think it's wrong if you get more than one, those are just my morals though! Good question!

I do not agree with abortion at all. But, I know that people do make mistakes. Everyone does. But, you should learn from your mistakes. If you continue to get into the same mess over and over, then shame on you. She is purposly having unprotected sex, knowing the risk of getting pregnant, but does it anyway. She would rather kill her baby than to use protection. It is sick.

I don't think there are too many abortions, it's too many times with unprotected sex. You would think after the first abortion or two you'd wise up and start using condoms or the pill or at the very least, the rhythm method.

Try not to feel too creepy around her, maybe she just didn't have the options we have today.

I believe one is to many! Its not the babys fault it was created. I also agree that people make mistakes though, if you have one, then if you have a heart you will fell severe guilt and never do it again.
