Male urethra is a lot longer than a womans. Bladder is situated in a slightly different position to the female and women do not have a prostate (or a penis, if we are getting technical).

There are almost NO differences between the male and female urinary systems other than the outside bits, I.E. where the urethra is located. One of the main reasons why women are more prone to UTIs is because we usually have penetrative or Penis-In-Vagina sex, which can literally force bacteria up our urethra due to it's close location to the vagina, causing irritations and infections. Women can prevent this by going pee right after penetrative sex, so anything that was pushed up into the bladder and/or urethra is literally flushed out.

Normally, a person has two kidneys. The remainder of the urinary tract consists of two ureters (the tubes attached to the kidneys and to the bladder), the bladder, and the urethra (a tube attached to the bladder that leads to the outside of the body). Each kidney continuously produces urine, which then drains through the ureter into the bladder at a low pressure. From the bladder, urine drains through the urethra and exits the body through the penis in males and the vulva in females. Under normal circumstances, urine is free of bacteria and other infectious organisms.

The uti tract of men and women is pretty similar except for the fact that women have shorter urethras than men. Due to this women are more prone to urinary tracy infections and kidney infections. Its easier for bacteria to climb up into the bladder and cause infection and if not treated quickly enought it can then make its way up to the kidney's. Most uti's in women are caused by faecal contamination, not nice i know but its true.
