They say "This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry Handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server." and there's a bunch of other jibberish but I get about 10 a day and it makes me nuts. What are they and how do I get them to stop?

Those are called "flycatcher" messages, it indicates that you may have set up your BlackBerry incorrect.

Example, if you are using the BB for POP email and you set the desktop software for MS Exchange, it will do that.

There are alot of possabilites, I would need to know what type of email you are using for the BB to assist 100%.

The desktop redirector is sending those messages to you. Very Annoying I know.

Uninstall the desktop software. If you're on a BES server, reinstall and pay special attention to the Entreprise Server option. Do Not Select the Redirector. If you're not a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) then install as a Blackberry Internet Service

Also, after you do this, delete the messages in question (The ones they say don't delete) and also delete the Service Books, all of them.

After you set-up the software, sync the device.

Also, if you do want to run the redirector service, you must have a Microsoft Exchange server installed on your machine

If you're still experiencing some issues, call your service provider, they will guide you through the procedure.

Good Luck,
Mike

That is an activation file sent by BlackBerry. It should also have a DAT file attachment. You should only get those during activation of the device.
