I doubt it could be the education system, look at other countries america has a horrible education system compared to other nations..ex. sweden,Italy,UE,France, Japan . Yet even tho most of these countries have great education system their economies arent as grand as ours

Lack of intelligence. I know a number of people who have succeeded with a limited education. I also know a number of highly educated people who are dirt poor because they have no common sense. Intelligence level of the person is the overriding factor.

Both - lack of education and lack of early life advantages...Alot of poor people are depressed and feel hopeless and it is hard for them to know what opportunities are out there because no one is helping them...Negative attitudes and failure mentality probably has something to do with it - lack of money makes young and old feel hopeless.

Children are taught by their parents that college is not an option because there's no money for it - the parents come from a different generation where there was no help for the poor - so they tell their kids not to dream or achieve because there nobody will help them get an education... I think there is a lack of knowledge of opportunities that are available for those who study hard and try hard to achieve more.

The government. They want us to be poor. So they cram too many kids into a class room, don't give teachers the pay they deserve, don't educate the lower classes on birth control, make medication and any kind of medical treatment outrageously expensive.
Do you realize that people are going to INDIA for life saving operations because the doctors there are mostly trained in the US or England and INCLUDING airfare it's cheaper to be operated on there than in the US? And insurance companies are starting to pay for it, which frankly, surprises the hell out of me because I blame the insurance companies for half of Americas problems.
I just realized that I'm becoming a conspiracy theorist...that's kind of scary.
