The makers don't explain how magnets work. I can only tell you of my experience. I suffer from mild arthritic pain. When I feel a sensation coming on I wrap a piece of magnet on my hand and usually by morning the pain goes away.

They have magnets in them. That's how they work. They work at attracting metal. That's about it.
