I"m going to start jogging and am looking for a decent MP3 player--I don't need a ton of bells and whistles, just something that will hold my songs from any source and won't skip anything! Recommendations anyone?

The Ipod nano is supersmall and thin, and there are tons of special cases you can wrap around your arm to use when jogging.

The nano is good because the type of memory it uses doesn't skip. There are different types of memory Mp3 players use. Some are like the comouters, if you move it can skip. The ipod video is supposed to be like this. The nano is good, it won't skip.

Find an mp3 player that uses AA batteries. This is the best since you could listen a lot longer and you don't have to recharge the battery.
Nothing is more frustrating than having 739 songs around your neck teasing you with their silence from needing to be recharged for another eight hours.
My Panasonic uses AA battery and lasts 80 hours. Most ipods last a fraction of that then needs recharging. I don't like ipods because they are inconvenient, but they do have nice style and are simple for some people. I think every gadget is simple, but that's because I'm a self proclaimed nerd.

The ipod shuffle is a great choice if you don't need bells and whistles. I use one while mountain biking and it has been beaten every which way, soaking wet and still works as good as the day I got it. The light weight and lanyard.for your neck make it very convenient.

It depends on how much music you have. if you have 240 songs or less, get an iPod shuffle 1 gig. if you have 240-500, get an iPod nano 2 gig. 500-1,000 get an iPod nano 4gig. if you want something like an iPod shuffle, but with a screen, check out the sansa c100 or c200
(depending on memory)

Do not get an iPod, they need to sync with iTunes which sometimes just refuses to sync at all. Try a Creative or a SanDisk
