You need to pry the glued rocks out and replace them with loose one. If you leave them this way, it will kill the bamboo. They do that so the rocks don't fall out in shipping. The glue is supposed to dissolve but hey often don't. Is it water only or does it have dirt? If water only just keep the pot 3/4 full. If it has dirt, keep it moist but not wet. You can remove the gold twist ties if you want but it's not necessary. They're just there to keep the bamboo together but you should be able to do that with the rocks.
Just a tip: Bamboo likes indirect light. Place near a window but not in direct sunlight otherwise it will get sun burned.

Normally all you have to do is replace the water. Try dumping even a little bit of your water out. Maybe some of it will come out between the rocks? I would untie the bamboo stems as long as they still stay upright it does not matter if they are held together tight. I was told if you replace the water Every so often they will last about a year. I have had mine for 2 years now and it still looks great! I guess the reason for replacing the water has something to do with getting fresh oxygen into the water so even if you can move the water around or get some fresh water in there ( if you can't move the rocks). Hope this helps

RE:
Care for a bamboo plant?
Just bought a potted bamboo plant and am confused by the care instructions. It's in a small, ceramic pot and the top is small rocks that seem to be glued together and don't move.
Care says to flush/replace water once/month. How? I can't move anything in this pot.
Says to keep water at...

I have alot of bamboo all around here inside and out when I buy them stucked together I untie them and untangle them. Once you do that it gives the plants a chance to live longer if not they will get all moldy and die.
When taking care of bamboo plants make sure you have an vase or bowl and rocks to keep them secure, Then water them. You need to change the water out once a week to put in fresh water or it will stink. When the stems die just them away .Or they will infect the other stems.
Bamboo is consider the plant of good luck and prosperity it said to keep out any negative from your home.

not so difficult especially in a country where bamboo can easily be found everywhere. my neighbor planted that [but not in a pot] and he just use ordinary garden soil, water it everyday, and use organic fertilizer with 8-8-8 composition Hi Repairman, no fun anymore answering YA Malaysia. They are fighting a never ending battle over there, and no more travel thing. So garden is more peaceful place

Now they are nice and tall over the house..First step: go to the 99cent store and buy a deep vase or gold fish bowl..2nd buy some rocks they have them in different sizes it's what you choose- then take your little baby bamboo seperate the clue it won't hurt it that's only for shipping purpoes's you are going to see root's that's o.k..you want that! before you stick the bamboo in the vase or fish bowl you want to rinse it with hot water only o.k also rinse the rocks with only hot water to no soap!!! step 3..once you did all that then you place the rocks in your new bowl half way! and then place the bamboo on the rocks and then place the rest of the rock the rest of the way! to cover the roots! Oh by the way! it's aslo helps your bamboo growth to use bottle water it dosen't matter what water generic brand...depending on what tap water you have could be harsh on it..I hope this helps explain taking care of the little plant! p.s before I forget The bands the tie yes you can remove them to let them breath as I call it lol..and be carefull on the sun you don't want it to get 3-degree burns...lol..good luck any-more questions get ahold of me at me e-mail addy!

It's not Bamboo at all, although they nickname it Lucky Bamboo. It is actually a member of the 'Draceana' family. The rocks are glued in for shipping purposes, so it doesn't uproot itself in the pot in the box. Quite tacky, I agree. Just knock them loose and remove, and also the rope, once they've established they no longer need to be tied together for added support. You can grow them in water or in soil, they can be allowed to dry out slightly between watering if in soil, very low light tolerant, easy to grow,

i know that touching them a lot will kill them.
change the water every 3 days in the summer to prevent mosquitoes.
i believe, once the roots are hearty, you can take that god-awful gold twisties off.
