This is most likely an Internet problem than a computer problem. I would run an ad cleaning software such as Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and posibly a pop-up blocker.

Sounds more like you just downloaded a program or attempted to remove a program and you are now getting a critical system error.

Go to www.ccleaner.com and download their free crap cleaner. One of the very best free cleaners and run it. Have you cleaned out your event viewer??. If not go to start, setting, control panel, administrative tools and open. click on event viewer, open application first and delete the file and then open system an delete the file. If you wish you can send these files to Microsoft for investigation.

After you have completed the above be sure to reboot your system.

You can also go to www.rosecitysoftware.com and download their Registry First Aid program. And run check the registry for error. This is a purchase program and will let you clean up your registry for "X" amount of day before you must purchase.

Hope this helps you.
