I am trying to find out the difference between a gatefold sleeve record and a regular sleeve record?

A gatefold sleeve will open like a book. Back in the day, double albums would often be sold in gatefold sleeves, with one lp inserted into each side. Sometimes, though, the gatefold just provides more space for artwork. CDs and LPs can have gatefold sleeves. I think that digipaks are all gatefolds.

A regular sleeve is just a pocket for the album.

A Gatefold album cover, is the outer sleeve on an old LP,
usually 33 1'3 rpm. The gatefold coming from the way you open the outer cover, like a book. If your under 30, ask your dad what an LP was!
A good example of a gatefold sleeve album cover would be
Yes's Fragile album. Open the sleeve and their is more information, photographs, etc...
