there are a lot, but I think the one that got me the most was from Stephen King's It, that was a wickedly scarey book, and then the movie almost had me running home to sleep with my mom again..... There is one scene where the boys are looking into the sewer, and they can here the clowns voice, and then see him.....yikes! There is also a scene in Amityville Horror (sorry for the spelling) where the babysitter looks out the window and sees those creepy red eyes....God, now I have goosebumps....Oh and how could I forget The Hand, that movie had me sleeping with my head under the covers for like ever, still won't let my feet stick out!

I've got a strange answer. When I was a kid, I saw Airport - the original, with Dean Martin (1970 or so). The bomb goes off (did I spoil it for you?), and it was so upsetting to me I had to run out of the theatre to the bathroom for a few minutes, because it was so "intense." (Poor Jackie Bissett!) That never happened to me before or since.
I've since seen the movie again and it did not have anywhere near the same effect.
But it was a first-hand account of something "too intense for younger audiences." The rating system was just coming in then, and I was with my parents. But maybe I was too young to be there.

There are lots, but ill give you this one. If you've seen the grudge you'll know what I'm talking about. The scene at the start when the china girl goes to the attic and turns around with the lighter in her hand to see that shocking face. scared the s**t out of me and stuck in my head for a week r more.

Yes, the movie The Sixth Sense scared me to death. The scene where the boy is hiding in his room and the woman walks by his door, and the noise the movie had in the background at just that moment scared me to death!! I have seen alot of scary movies, and nothing tops that scene for me. My heart skipped a beat. I think because it seems so realistic. Eeeew!!!

In the Ring the scene at the wake where the mother is talking to the aunt and she says "I SAW HER FACE" and they show the dead girl in the closet and her head tilts over.
I saw that movie when i was in 5th grade. i'm going to be a junior in high school and that still gives me the willies.
i haven't watched the movie since.
