I confess to being a bit confused myself. I'm in Canada, but cried for the lost souls of every colour on 9/11.
That being said, I see in the USA as well as Canada, those who determine themselves to be "underprivileged". It's funny how I see blacks, hispanics and asians accomplishing great status and importance in both countries. I also see blacks, hispanics, asians AND white people downtrodden, homeless, and hopeless.
I think that it all goes back to:
If you think you can, you're probably right. If you think you CAN'T, you're definately right.
Too many people of any race, religion, sex, etc want to be the bloody "victim" to get whatever attention they can.
To achieve unity, you need to ACT and BEHAVE as if unified. The proof itself was in 9/11, and how everyone acted the same and helped anyone in need.
In day to day life, treat everyone the same yourself, and it'll have an effect on your own community. First the community, then the world.

It would be nice but don't hold your breath about it, because it will NEVER happen.
You're correct 100% in that on 9/11 we all became GRAY as in the color of ASHES falling from the heavens, but it lasted only until the memorials did, then people reverted back to what they know best...
Sadly [and yet gladly for us,] it is NOT trauma and agony from witnessing your loved ones die daily...like in other countries...but rather the petty, small things like color, and race, the haves and the have-not's...it's called Destiny.
Our curse for Cain and Able, two brothers who were separated forever because of greed, anger, laziness, indifference, misunderstandings and jealousy.
IF two blood brothers could NOT set aside their indifference's and come together as a united front for survival what makes anyone think this world can....they couldn't...and the world can't either...and we are doomed to repeat our mistakes out of sheer ignorance...blood shed or not.

It truly is a sad day to remember without having to have splinter groups of Americans. Be that as it may; perhaps Alfre Woodard's segment was to clearly demonstrate that yes even Afro-Americans were affect and effectively stood in the shoes of hero's; as did so many others on that tragic day. I can still remember where and what I was doing when the news came to me at work.
I would cut her some slack because many people believed that based on the pictures being generated from ground zero; that only Caucasians were affect by this terrorist act. In essence we were all. How many of us out there knows someone; who was killed, or by recent news events are suffering from breathing the toxic air from the clean up even to this day?
Sure its not a day to separate. Heck when they come again; God forbid; it will not be for the Jews, Iris, Italians, Chinese, Afro-Americans, Mexicans; or Baptist, Catholics, Muslims; or even Republicans, Democrats, Independents. It will be for the Americans. United we stand; divided we shall fall. Make up you mind America and wake up.

It is a great pity that it took 9/11 to cover up the colour issue:
The Twin Towers – 9 /11
The world turned upside down today,
Surely this cannot be right,
To do such things to get ones way,
By death, destruction, terror, fright.
The sight was burned upon my eyes,
Of deathly events on a distant shore,
Insanity fell from out the skies,
On those who see loved ones no more.
In the name of religion, these things were done,
If they were right, it leaves one cold,
In the name of God, there is but One,
The problem is not new but old.
But He shall have the final say,
When He shall decide, He shall rule,
On those before Him on Judgement Day,
That what they did was wrong and cruel.
Instead of raising them on high,
His findings to them He shall declare,
On Martyrdom and Suicide,
And without doubt, make them aware.
Thou shalt not kill, was writ on stone,
To live, to die, is not man’s choice,
To take a soul, is His alone,
To disobey, a mammoth price.
For they shall spend eternity,
In Hell for what they did this day,
And ponder for infinity,
That this was not, is not, the way.

With a world like you are depicting there would be no veiwer base for such shows as the News, CSI, History Channel and simular. This country, this world has never been unified and never will. That's the true state of humanity.

The powers to be want us divided. We are easier to control when we hate each other.I hope that the day will come that we will just see another human. Not a color, religion or different ethnic group.sadly I do not think I will live to see this day.

For some reason, and to their constant detriment, blacks are constantly trying to set themselves apart from white society..
This would seem to be in direct contradiction of their constant
clammoring for integration and equality...
