absolute nothing, not even empty space. outside our universe is beyond human understanding. the four common dimensions that we refer to (length, width, height, time) don't even exist out there. think of it this way, even in outerspace, an empty one meter sided cube still EXISTS. take away that very existance of even emptiness and voila, that's what it's like to be outside the universe

Sort of depends on whether ours is a closed or open universe from a general relativity standpoint. If closed, could be a single bubble in a much larger multiverse. If open, which seems more probable at present, then not much room for "outside".

the universe is defined as the total of all matter in all locations. there cannot be an outside to that. If your question was supposed to be what is outside our galaxy then the answer is mostly empty space with other galaxies scattered about.
