Actually, North Korea probably is a bigger short-term threat. They have nuclear warheads, and have test-fired short, medium, and long-range missles more than once. Their leader, Kim Jong Il, is very unstable, and when ignored or overshadowed tends to do dangerous and provacative things. There are even rumors that debris from previous North Korean tests was found in Alaska (but take that with a "grain of salt"). All in all, North Korea could hit us much easier and has almost nothing to lose.

Wow John J, very deep, fairly like, makes you think of... yet heavily, this question is kinda great for the type of internet site. besides the fact that, Noth Korea is making an attempt out ICBMs that ought to potentialy attain Alaska and Hawaii so this is feasable that they might hit the u . s . a . with a nuclear warhead in the subsequent decade. yet they probable won't, with the whole M.A.D.(mutualy certain destruction) undertaking. Basicly because of the fact the terrific militia ability in the worldwide the only actual possibility the u . s . a . has are financial ones and guerrila and terrorist militia ones. to veda: Yeah now that the U. S. militia purely has like 12000 nuclear warheads and consumes extra money than the blended GDP of a few thing like the botton 0.5 of each united states of america in the worldwide the U. S. is nearly a splash one vs paintshaker.

No.

North Korea only has regional interests and mostly pertaining to maintaining the myth of their "Dear Leader". They want to develop Nuclear technology presumably to keep America at bay.

Because everyone knows how scared the US is of anyone who has nuclear weapons. The entire world watched as the USSR with its thousands of nukes made America back down.

This kind of thinking is why North Korea will never be a real threat.

Iran, on the other hand, is actively trying to claim leadership over the Muslim world. They back numerous terror cells world wide and are openly aggresive regarding both hte west and Israel.

North Korea may eventually back terror to achieve its goals, but is not yet suspected of such.

Japan, China, and South Korea are all keeping very close eyes on North Korea, besides which they don't so far have the capability to launch across the pacific, so they'd have to launch from a naval vessel. We'd see them before they got into range, don't worry.

North Korea is a much bigger and credible threat for Americas. N.korea not only a countrythats less talk but its very capable of delivering that threat of necessary and they could care less .Iran is a threat that is all words but no substance . Iran is a threat that’s easier to deal with for our government, to keep people occupied and to keep all the oil mongers who run this government happy.

in other words n.korea can destroy us if it wishes
iran can not destroy us if it wishes

I think both are 3rd World Countries. Economic starvation is the most cost effective way of minimizing the threat of these nations.

North Korea is not going to implement a first strike on the United States. They simply are not that stupid. The largest threat to the United States is the idiot we currently have in the White House.

No. North could be a one time threat of one to a few bombs before it would be removed form memory.
Iran with it's terrorist base is by far the worst danger, for one thing their is one of religious fanatics who would see the world destroyed to get their agenda across. North Korea is a one man nut case government out for attention because his people are starving.
