I have never been so mortified as when I came upon a website that had pictures of famous dead people after they had died. The one that haunts me still was of Chris Farley. I guess some people are just sickly entertained by things like that, but c'mon, can't we have any respect?
I can understand why Steve would have said that he would want us to be able to learn from it, but I don't think he meant that he wanted it to be broadcasted on the internet for everyone to gawk at. Let's give the video to his wife, and trust that she will do what's right.

The tape will be destroyed, it has been officially announced. Why is EVERYONE so obsessed with this? Rehtorical. Other news is going on in the world and it's time to pay attention to it. Peace to Irwin's family, but enough is enough! And to Nola: You must be completely demented, dear. The idea that this should be "put away" for his children to view someday is about the most demented, absurd, and asinine thing I have yet to hear anyone on this forum say! Like I am really sure they would want to see their father being speared to death when they grow up. "Hey, Bindi, want to watch the tape of Dad beiing speared again?" "Sure Bob, get it out and I'll make some popcorn. We can get Mom in on this too, because I know she would want to see it again!" Nola, you are insane or perhaps five years old!

Yes, there's absolutely no reason and they should destroy it before it gets out to the media, they'll have a field day with it and I think Steve's family and friends are already going through enough.

Actually, they played an interview with him from a few years ago that said if he's ever attacked keep the tape rolling so they could learn more about animals from it.
Or something like that.
So I'd say no.
It's a shame people are being ghoulish about it, but what can you do . . .
PS I would not want to see it, no.

yes, I do hope they destroy it. It will serve no purpose to the general public other than being an awful video on Youtube for children to see. I'm not even sure why the family would want to see it.

yes maybe cuz it could keep reminding them and it would really hurt them
but at the same time it is such a painful thing to do. The tape is like a proof but i really don't know maybe they should

well base on all the answers I guess they will destroy it.....If he were my loved one I don't think I would destroy it since those were his last moments. For personal reasons I would keep it; but I would request the actual "attack" be edited out or erased
