My wife and I are planning to conceive our first child soon.

We have been together for 5 years and married for 2 years.

How long were you with your partner/spouse before getting pregnant?

Do you wish you waited longer or do you wish you got pregnant earlier?

we were married for about 7 months but had been trying the whole time. We dated forever before getting married! I feel like there isnt really a right time to get pregnant. Just when both partners feel they are ready for something more and can handle a big life change. We are overly excited.

My husband and I met when I was 16 and he was 17. We married at 18 and 19. Our first daughter was born when I was 20 and he was 21. We have now been married for 29 years. Our kids are 27, 24, 21, and 9 (SURPRISE!). Our 27 year old has been married for 4 years and we just found out that we will be grandparents for the first time in April. We are so very excited. My daughter and son-in-law have been together since January 1997. For our family, the timing was just right. If I were growing up today, I would definitely have waited until I was older to get married and have kids. There are so many more things to do and see before settling down. Myself, I am very happy, but I have witnessed way too many unhappy marriages, broken families, and divorces. Maybe waiting longer for marriage and having a family could help this for some people.

I met my husband when i was 16, moved in together when i was 17, got married just before 19, got pregnant at 19, had the baby at 20, and preggo again at 21. If the first pregnancy would have been planned, i think we would have waited till about 25 to get school, partying, saving some money, getting to know each other and building our relationship all our of the way first. If you feel that everything is in place and you have really gotten to know each other and are ready to start raising a baby together, then go for it. It is not about time, but about if you are ready to take it on as a couple and do it together.

My husband and I have been together since 1993, but got married fairly recently in 2003. We immediately got pregnant the very same month we got married. Very strange, considering we had gone the previous 10 years without using protection. It's like our son was being very prudish, and wouldn't make an appearance without a ring being on my finger!

Anyway, to answer your other questions, I sometimes wish we had married and started the family sooner. I'm now pregnant with our second, and am at times feeling a bit too old for all this.

I started dating my husband 5 years ago and we have been married a little over 2 years now. I will be having a baby in about 8 weeks and we couldnt be happier. We were at the point that if it happened it happened. That took the stress off of trying and only having sex to try and it greatly helped. If both of you feel like you can do it then go for it, if not then try and wait a little longer. Hope it all works out for you!

We'd known each other for a year and had been having sex for a month. I wish we had waited longer.
My grandmother got married when she was 20, but wasn't able to conceive until she was 25. The same thing happened to my aunt. My mom assumed that it was genetic so when she and my dad got married at age 21, they didn't use any birth control. That is how they got me 9 months later!

We have been together for 16 years and married for 5 and a half. We tried to conceive our child soon after we got married and we succeeded to realize that the very first time. I do not want to change absolutely nothing.
