Guess it depends on your friends. My friends hated my dh and now he is my bestfriend and I couldn't be happier. My friends didn't know crap and based their judgments on what they thought he was because of his tattoo's and past choices. That isn't who he is or was when we were dating. Make sure you are making your own decisions.

I met my husband about six months after he came to my school. He reminded me of a young romance novel male cover model, as in one who would grow into one. He had shoulder length dark hair and light green eyes..any way, I was not the most popular girl in school and I wasn't prom queen pretty either. But I didn't "play' around with his feelings like the cheerleaders did. One day he over heard them talking about him like he was a side of beef not a guy and it hurt him. I "just happened to be around" you know, I had THE crush on him and we talked.
We had a lot of talks and one day after graduation I asked him to marry me. And he said yes. I nearly fainted because I hadn't expected that. I thought he would just laugh it off and ask if I wanted a burger and cola. Our talks I considered dates because I never went out with another boy.

The cheerleaders lost out to the skinny girl with braces. I now have him, a nice smile and two beautiful kids. :)

Sometimes the prince sees the beauty in the ugly duckling.

Yes
For two reasons

After all this time i trust my friends judgement and when they endorse mine i can be fairly confident that my feelings are right and i am not being blinded by love or hormones!

Secondly, if my boyfriend has made an effort with my friends that makes me love him more.

Absolutely. Friends have a big play on what is good and bad in a MAN. If they like him, you're golden. Vise Versa as well.
