My suggestion would be to take a course at a junior college. Books do not do signing justice and the pictures are not easily undertsood. When my memory fails me or when I see someone sign a word differently and am curious about it - I look it up. The best online resources I can give you are the following:

The above site has animated signing and would be much more helpful to you than a book - where the pictures dont move!!

Good luck!!!

Depending on which kind of sign language you would like to learn. There is ASL(American Sign Language) Exact Sign language and others. You can start just by searching the web for which one you are intrested in. I perfer ASL my x-boyfriends daughter is deaf and she does a mixture of Exact and American. It is a very intresting form of communication. It seems difficult at 1st but after awhile its second nature. But if you dont use it you will lose it. It is a language you must use daily. I often find myself while talking to a non deaf person I still sign. Good luck!!
