Usually yellow under the fingernails is a sign of lack of oxygen. You should leave your nails with no polish on them for a while so they can breathe. Also, when painting them, start with a base coat before you put the polish on. Base coats don't contain formaldehyde, which causes the yellowing of your nails.

Nails yellow naturally as they age. You can dip them in lemon juice although the acid in it isn't particularly good for your nails or skin. I use a Sally Henson nail penil (it's white) and all you have to do is run it under your nail and it helps color the nail tip white.

you can dip a q-tip in bleach and use that or soak them in vinegar or lemon juice
