I recently had a question on here about white scales peeling on my goldfish. I was asked for updates... so here it is. Tom died sometime last night. :( I didn't figure out what was wrong, but the other fish have not been affected. Thanks for all your help in trying to solve this with me.

sorry about your gold fish. I had that problem to. One of my fish died and the other one is healthy. I found out lately that it's actually a scale desease. If you go to your local pet store and ask them what is the best medicine for it buy it now and keep it just incase you will need it again for your current fish or incase you decide to buy a new one.

My sincere condolences on your loss.
Having not figured out what went wrong, I suggest you take steps to find out what you can do to protect the health of the other fish. Testing your water, consider changing your filter, etc... talk to a pet store or an aquarian specialist in your area.
There is a very fine balance that needs to be obtained and maintained in a healthy aquarium and the death of a fish can send it the wrong way.
