is there a cheat for more money? and if so can you tell me how to enter it

As Peridot stated use control, alt and shift at the same time. you will see a blinking cursor in the upper left of the screen. Type 'motherlode' (all one word) and you will be reqarded 50k simoleans.
I have heard a rumor that this eventually does run out of money, but in the year or two I have played The Sims 2, I have created well over 35 million simoleans on several different Sims and have yet to see it run out.... so it may not be accurate.
This the the way I created my dream home with cars. Enjoy.

Control + shift + c and a box should appear at the top of the screen type in "KiiK" and the box shall be bigger this prevents the box from disppearing everytime you enter motherlode, then type in motherlode for a quicker way to get loads of money after entering motherlode press the up arrow key and then enter keep repeating this for loads of money much more quicker!

Press these keys all at the same time on your keyboard: Shift, ctrl, alt. A bar should appear at the top, and then type in it, "motherlode". If I recall I think it gives you 50 000 simoleans. Alternatively, if you want a smaller amount typing in "kaching" instead will give you 1 000 simoleans.

You have to type in this order at the same time these keys: ctrl, shift and C key and the blinking screen will appear then type in motherlode.
