Sorry, buddy, never could understand that one. I used to ask and ask because it was stupid to me. I don't drink, but I used to. I don't know why we have to have daylight savings time either. Oh well...

Hello. - There was a time when a person at the age of 18 could buy liquor legally. The link below (Source) provides, in my opinion, a detailed answer to your question.

The 20th anniversary of the change of the national drinking age to 21 was July 17, 2004. Before the minimum was passed in 1984, states were allowed to set their own drinking ages, with some as low as 18 years for certain alcoholic proofs.

Have a nice day. :)

Ive noticed since Ive gotten a little older, girls really dont get hasseled at a club about drinking if they are hot. Ive seen girls 16 drunk in a 21 and over club before. So I think this really just applies for guys.

Guys and girls are very immature when it comes to alcohol. They want to fight or have vulgar sex acts in the backseat or in public. When the 18 year old goes into the service, they are in an atmosphere where maturity can make the difference. Strict obedience makes them a proud and great soldier. Alcohol and teenagers breed, death, teen pregnancy and venereal disease, unnecessary fights and humiliation.

People under the age of 25 often feel "invincible". This mixed with alcohol is a bad idea. This mixed with guns can be good if molded in the right way.

My friends and I used to have this debate quite often and it is BS!!! Not only that, they are also old enough to elect public officials into office and also get sued, have credit cards, loans, etc.... Totally makes no sense.

Drinking is something you do for yourself and no one tells you what or how much too drink and is hazardous to your health, and in the army you have "grown-ups" telling you what to do. :(

I agree with you. Dumb rule. I want you to kill for me, but to jail with you if you have a beer. No sense.
