It depends on the severity of the stroke . They might need help with ambulation or they might be bedridden. It is hard to say without more info. A person who has had a stroke will probably have had a swallow study to assess how well they swallow. For a severe stroke patient, they will be on a mechanical soft diet....it will be finely blended. Just make sure you assist with feedings. Stroke patients can also have food in the jaw of the affected side after eating, so be sure to clean out their mouth after eating.

Really you need to ask his/her doctor but they can eat what they prefer if physic allows
