Jackson put out better individidual songs, but they all followed maybe 3 trends: kiddy-pop, the "Off The Wall" album, and then Thriller and thereafter where it all sounds the same and follows a formula.

Elvis put out a greater diversity of music for a longer period of time (despite his death).

So, despite the fact that I think Jackson is the better entertainer, I'd say Elvis is the better musician.

I like this question because it brings up an important point. There is a difference between musicion and performer. I have been in Vienna at their great concert hall in which we watched musicians. It was an incredible moment. But I also have seen Alice Cooper's concert, and remember the thrill of his performance. Two different feelings, but wow were they equally something that I will remember for a lifetime.

There also is the subjective generation difference. Elvis was a phenomena that had never been seen ever before who had been censored due to his pelvis thrusts. Parents didn't want their children, nor did the television want this pelvis to be viewed. Michael Jackson was a phenomena because we never saw anyone move accross the stage like his moon walk. But he wasn't censored, yet there is the feeling of his strangeness. I think we do, however, watch Mr. Jackson especially now wondering what is he up to now with maybe even a little guilt that we really aren't sure what he's become.

As far as performance, it's a tie. My mom said that she saw Elvis and he was amazing, and this was when he was fat and all. She has also met John Wayne and Frank Sinatra and said that these people have the common dynamic presence.

There is no comparison, Michael Jackson is in a class by himself! He broke Elvis' previous records! Michael has sold more albums and got more awards!! Personally I think Elvis stunk to high heaven!! He couldn't hold a candle to Michael's dancing either!

♥♥We Love You Michael!!!!♥♥

Elvis, the junky,. was good for the period of time he occupied. Micheal, the alleged child molestor, was also good for his time. they both sang songs that I like. Elvis had a more romantic voice and was more romantic from all the clips I have seen of him. I'll give it to Elvis. Micheal is a better entertainer, has more energy.
