Writer's market lists editors and agents. Most people get an agent who then markets their book to editors. To get an agent, research who represents what. Then need to send them your novel (or a specified length of the novel). The agent's assistant reads it and if they like it pass it to the agent, who reads it and decides if they want to work with you. Having an agent isn't a guarantee of success with editors, though. Alternatively, you could try submitting directly to editors. Or you could do one of the "on demand" publishers or self publish. Good luck!

It might be wise to finish writing it, edit it, revise it, rewrite a few drafts, and then send a query letter with a 2-3 page synopsis to some agents who represent authors with work similar to yours.
Once you pay for self-publishing road, you won't be able to sell it to a publisher, so consider your objectives. Do you just want to hold a "book" in your had and feel you accomplished your goal? Then self-publish. If you want to try to SELL your manuscript to a publisher or to get an agent to do it, you will need to write something that will generate sales.

There are a lot of vanity press places. You can find their ads in magazines or one the web. The catch is that they charge you for printing the book. If you can sell the copies they print you keep the money.
I do know one person who wrote an entertaining book and had it printed by a vanity press. She sold it on her web site and got a lot of customers. She was then approached by Amazon who put it on their site and encouraged her to write a followup book for them at their expense.

put it on Lulu.com & see how well you do by being self-published.
cost is minimal & it'll give you an idea of how well your material would do on the open market.
