I've tried walking around the mall, my apartment building, and even running up and down the stairs but nothing is working. Have any ideals what might help?

I've tried the sex thing already, and this is my fifth baby. With my 1st I had her @ 39 wks, 2nd was a month early, 3rd was @ 40 wks, and last one was at 39 wks. I know with all of them I did a lot of dancing. but this time it's not working.

I'm sure your uncomfortable at this point my 1st was born at 36 weeks my 2ed 37 i was uncomfortable then. Sex can help trigger labor if your close to going into labor anyway. Walking nipple stimulation. Really it just happens when the baby's ready to roll. You can try a few things to get it going but, they may not work. Talk to the doc about stripping your membranes a lot of times that gets things going. If all else fails every modern doc will induce by 42 weeks at the very LATEST.

Castor oil caution though it will give you loose stool but it worked for me it tastes really bad but it induces labor• Nipple stimulation: Twisting or pinching your nipples releases your own natural oxytocin. A few studies have found it to be effective in getting labor going within 72 hours if your cervix is already ripe, but the method has not been well studied. And don't try it at home: Nipple stimulation requires monitoring because it can sometimes cause prolonged contractions that could stress your baby and depress his heart rate.

• Sexual intercourse: Semen contains some prostaglandin and having an orgasm may stimulate a few contractions, but having sex won't induce labor.

• Castor oil: Castor oil is a strong laxative, and stimulating your bowels may cause some contractions, but no good studies have proven it consistently effective, and you're likely to find the effect on your gut very unpleasant.

• Herbal remedies. A variety of herbs are touted as useful for labor induction. Some are risky because they can hyperstimulate your uterus (and may be unsafe for your baby for other reasons as well), and the safety and effectiveness of others remains unproven.

Okay, seriously, while they are delivering your child, have an IMMEDIATE tubal ligation. Are you kidding me??? I had my first daughter induced but she was 40 weeks and 2 days and was 9 pounds 9 ounces. If she had reached 10 pounds there would have been complications with her delivery so they had to induce me. Your baby is NOT ready. 36 weeks may be considered "full term", but that's not full term when you're trying to MAKE them come. Save your jumping off ledges until you're not pregnant anymore and make sure it's 2-3 stories instead of feet. Seriously, you should not be having children... Two weeks ago you were concerned with your baby having inutero seizures and now you're trying to do permanent brain damage by jumping off ledges??? You need Jesus. To Amber, castor oil is NOT recommended at all! OMG, ya'll are some winning parents... Seriously... It's AWESOME how selfish ya'll are.

I am so there with you! I wish I had a good answer, but for now, all I can say is that you are not alone.

38w5d along and hoping baby decides to make an appearance soon.

Big hugs and congrats!

(And please don't take castor oil...it could be very uncomfortable and could even cause your baby to pass meconium in the womb. Every woman I have known who did this has said it was the most horrible birthing experience ever. One even had to wear Depends because she couldn't contol her bowels. Ick!)

use your breast pump for an hour in the am and pm for a couple days. It works like magic, everyone i know who's done it ended up in labor within 24 hours.

Common folk remedies include walking and caster oil to induce labor. Your health care provider should induce you if you carry the baby much past the 40th week.

My doctor said to try having sex. Other ideas I have heard include eating egg plant parmigiana or castrol oil a big spoon full.
