Question

after robbing a bank, the robber gallops off at 17 mph. the sheriff leaves to pursue him 14 min later, riding at 22 mph. if the sheriff rides for t minutes, write an expression for the distance D in miles between the robber and the sheriff.

distance travelled by the robber=17(t+14/60)
distance travelled by the sheriff=22t
distance between them=17(t+14/60)-22t miles
