This is a follow up to a previous question I asked about my shirts being too long. Someone suggested I tuck them in but I feel like guys who tuck in their shirts are really lame, basically dads who use riding mowers and wear sandals and black socks, etc.

Am I wrong about this?

Tuck in your shirt...dont tuck it in...its your life. If someone calls you lame, call them lame for worrying about your life more than their own. Forget about other people, its you in life thats going to get you places.

It's all a matter of perception. If one has an infantile thought process and has a need to wear his shirt out and trousers down below his as* cheeks, I suppose that, within the limited scope of his world, he is cool. I personally, and within the scope of my world, will wear my shirt tucked in and my trousers belted at the hip with as well groomed an appearance and as dignified a mien as I can muster.

if ur shirt is really long then this is what u do to get a balance.
1. put on the long shirt.
2. get into ur pants,
3. with ur shirt tucked in pull ur pants up and fasten it
4. with the tuck shirt, pull on it so that some comes out possibly covering ur belt.
5. voila!

Well, if you're wearing the super-tight girly boy shirts, then tucking them in is going to look a little icky, but sometimes, tucked in is just a cleaner, more stylish look.

Tucking in your shirt depends on where you are. If you are in the workplace it is best to look presentable and tuck your shirt in. If you are out with friends or at the mall it is okay to leave your shirt un-tucked.

It depends on where you are going, to school, to work, dinner, family event?
Rule of thumb:
1) If the shirt tail falls below your bum, tuck it in. If it sits near your waistline, you can leave it out. Striped shirts look better untucked, and even better with a solid single-breasted blazer.

DEPENDS ON THE OUTFIT, IF YOU HAVE NICE KHAKIS ON WITH A DRESS SHIRT THEN TUCKING IS EXPECTED BUT NOT SO MUCH WITH T SHIRTS OR SWEATERS AND WITH JEANS DON'T TUCK ANYTHING BUT ALWAYS MAKE SURE IF YOU HAVE BROWN SHOES ON TO MAKE SURE YOUR BELT IS BROWN AND DITTO IF YOU HAVE BLACK SHOES\BLACK BELT. IF YOU FEEL YOUR SHIRTS ARE TOO SHORT TRY TO FIND A STYLE THAT IS BETTER FOR YOUR BUILD, OR MAYBE YOU ARE BUYING THE WRONG SIZE, I AM 24 AND I DON'T LIKE THE BAGGY PANTS HANGING DOWN WITH HUGE SHIRTS KEEP THINDS NICE AND SLIM AND STRUCTURED AND LAYERING IS ALWAYS NICE ON GUYS
