If I understand correctly, you're asking about today's Democrats as opposed to the Democrats of WWII, not Democrats v. Republicans...right? I think that if today's democrats had been in power during WWII, The Nazis would be controlling the world right now, because the Democrats in power would have just sat around and whined and never done anything to help with the war!!!!

Check your history facts. FDR and Truman were the war presidents, both Democrats. They won.
Aside from the senseless speculation of your question, it implies that today's Democrats were/are somehow Nazi sympathisers, yet many of the groups represented by today's Democrat Party were persecuted by the Nazis. Check your present facts.
Perhaps a more appropriate question would be, if people back in the day were as ignorant as they are now, but had such a powerful tool as the Internet with which to spread their ignorance, would the human race have perished via their own stupidity by now?

Democrats were in office!! FDR couldn't get the coward Republicans to fight Hitler, that is why he finally gave the order for US warships to start firing on German U boats! Actually, Germany declared war on us before we declared it on them! Those yellow Republicans!
