I think Taylor is way over used for both boys and girls. Not that there's anything wrong with the name, but you just said you didn't want anything too common.
Here's some nice but not too common ones I've heard lately:
Preston
Cole
Donovan
Elias (called Eli for short)
Hudson
Caleb
Brooks (a friends brother named his son this last month)
Cain
Peyton (a friend named her kid this but I thought it sounded more feminine than masculine)
Tyler
Morgan

The name I liked for boys (I had girls) Zachary, Conner, Parker (my favorite) My problem was I could see them with the name as a kid and not an adult or I could see it as an adult not a child. I like Cole (but couldn't see a yelling it out the back door for a child to come) Good luck. I didn't like names that could be shortened...ie Michael, Mike, Stephen, Steve etc.)

Lol, I know I was the same way with my two girls. My son, well, we only had two names picked out, decided to name him which ever one he looked like when he "came out". He looked like a Zachary Alexander. Here are a few I have thought of off of the top of my head:
Hunter James, Gunnar Thomas, Liam Douglas, Jonas Mark, Cooper Peyton, Eli Jacob, Brendan Cooper, Sean Christopher, Brody James, Micah Tyler, Dane Alexander, Raleigh Corbin, Anthony Stefan, Seth Fisher...........feel free to mix and match as you like. Have fun!
Have fun!

I am kind of parital to Michael. OF course that is my first name anyway.
But the popular name of this decade appears to be Dillion. Or Dylan. Last decade it appeared the popular boys name was Cody. I have a freind whose son's name is Justin. And I know many a boys named Corey. One last name that I havn't heard in a while is Nickolas.
