I have a wireless network and my laptop picks up the network in range. But when I click connect and everything is going fine but then it says it cant renew ip adress or something. Does anyone know how to fix it??

go to bottom right of the screen, near the clock. There should be a picture of a pc with radio waves coming out of it. Right click on this picture and go to repair on the menu. This might work sometimes it happens on my laptop too. maybe when the connection speed reduces from time to time. Good luck!

if it cant renew the ip address..
i would advise rebooting the router, if that doesnt work click start-->run-->type in cmd press enter/ok type in ipconfig /release then enter on the keyboard then ipconfig /renew enter on keyboard
this will ask the router or access point for a new ip address from the dhcp(ip map).

Sure go to Start -> Run, then type "cmd" (w/out the quotes). Once the DOS prompt comes up type: ipconfig /release, then wait a moment, then type: ipconfig /renew.

I have this, it is due to your broadband provider getting IP licence for only a set period. Once a week, I just switch off my Router, and switch it back on again, and Hay presto, back working.

I would agree with Paultech also but is it your router or are you logging into someone Else's
