What do you find more interesting?
I prefer psychology, its based on an individual rather than a whole society. I don't like society so i choose not to study them.

Interesting question. I study Sociology. I think Sociology is more useful for working out more large-scale and general problems we can encounter, which affect a great mass of people, such as a the poor or needy for example. Psychology is useful for treating specific problems in specific individuals, but sociology in the long run proves to have a larger influence on the progress of society as a whole. What is very interesting in Sociology is comparing different societies. You say you don't like society, which do you refer to, the English, the U.S.? You can begin understanding how to improve the gearwork of certain societies by comparing them with others and examining all the conditions under which each society was created.

Don't you think that is a sellfish attitude??? Emphasizing on an individual rather than the Society???? Are you NUTS??? The Society is a much broader concept than an individual. Although it is true that every single individual makes up a Society, but studying a single individual is very very very very boring and a back-breaking job (which I believe stupid women like, not known for the reason why. They always talk about people rather than ideas and social progress) . In Sociology you can get the picture of the whole population and understand people better.
You tell me, is it better to understand 'people as a whole' or only one single individual????
Maybe you like to study a single person who is lying on bench and he/she is blabbing all sorts of nonsence in your ears which makes your skull open up like a lid and your brain flies away to get some peace and quiet!!!!!

This is a good question, although the two fields are not completely independent of each other. I think the media is the connector for the two. For example, approximately how many people in the US see the same commercial on TV at the exact same moment. Advertising "creates" needs and "defines" what are lifestyle expectations "should" be. I took a Social Psychology course in college. I hated it at the time -dry- , but I came to appreciate it.

Both are very interesting. If you prefer counseling, psychology is obviously the route to take. I have a masters in psychology and a minor in sociology. I often use both in practice being that sociological prespectives are often needed and taken into consideration at times when attempting to ascertain why an individual behaves a certain way. i.e is the persons behavior due to their cultural upbringing?

First, do no longer develop right into a nurse. Psychology is truly exciting yet frequently surely ends up in a preparation position. Sociology, God I loved Sociology, replaced into wonderful. yet, back, fieldwork is restricted so maximum persons finally end up preparation at a school. Criminology is a sturdy base for being a criminal specialist or police officer. i come around the study of crime and criminal habit to be truly exciting. in case you want gazing such issues as regulation and Order or CSI you may delight in taking an intro to Criminology course.

I enjoy learning from both, because they are intertwined. We are individuals, as well as part of a society that shapes us. To understand ourselves, I belief a good understanding of our socio-economic background, helps us do a better, and a more accurate job of defining who we are as individuals.

I like psychology, but would not have majored in it in college. Upon graduation, I didn't want to have the only job I was able to get being "Welcome to Walmart" or "Would you like fries with that?"
