I just celebrated my birthday (Sep. 3).
"September... averaged the most births per day over the period from 1990 to 2002. "

I live in a town in Australia with a large military population & the birth rate seems to go up 9 months after troops return from a deployment
Also we dont have cold winters - so that is not a major factor

It is a fact that most people in the U.S are born in September because in the winter people stay in which means more intimacy and it's coldest around January and September is the 9th month also 9 months after January.

I have a lot of relatives born in September too. It seems like I remember reading some where that a lot of births do happen in Sept. I guess people have to stay warm somehow in those cold December/January nights.

It seems like most of my friends and family are born in either September of February. Honestly? I think it's because in the winter months it's too cold to do anything but stay home and get busy ;)

The answer is quite obvious if you think about it. The week that hold the most birthdays (in the U.S.) is the week of Nov. 10-16. The week before Nov. 3-9) and the week after (Nov. 17-23) are right behind. The reason... it's 9 months after... February 14th.

My 2 brothers and I are all born in September, also! My mother said it was my father's "Christmas present" to her !! Also, we are all born 6 years apart. The story goes that when my older brother was 5, he was asked what he wanted for his birthday and he said a sister, so mom said: "OK, next year." Sure enough, I was born. Of course, when I was 5, I was told this story -- and I immediately asked for a little brother!! So mom, even though she was getting up there in years, said: "OK, next year." And there was my baby brother!! Well, yes, of course, he was told the story, and of course he asked for a sister. My mother's response this time??
